Viking Runes Dress Watch - 1 of 1
The result of many hours of design and prototyping, the 18K gold-plated Viking runes dial has come to life, with an incredible amount of Swiss Grade A BGW9 lume that is meticulously hand applied. The outer ring of the dial showcases the runes used during the younger futhark period printed in white, encircled with a golden perimeter that marks 3 and 9 O'clock in semi-circles, whilst the mighty Thor marks 12 O'clock with a lightening bolt. The Date window lies at 6 O'clock keeping the design symmetrically appealing. The lume slots contain a generous amount of Swiss BGW9 at each hour marker, and has a raised perimeter around each to allow for more lume deposition.
The script in the central bottom portion of the dial is Icelandic meaning "Runes" with a gold plated Web of Wyrd symbol underneath.
The Web of Wyrd is a lesser-known Nordic symbol in Norse mythology that embodies the concept of interconnectedness between the past, present, and future. According to Norse myth, the Web of Wyrd was intricately woven by the Norns or Nornir, who are the Shapers of Destiny in Norse cosmology. This symbol, consisting of nine staves, encompasses all the runes, thereby representing the multitude of possibilities that both the past and future hold, as well as the current moment.
